We have received a Learning School certificate

We have it! Our school in Bemowo received the Learning School certificate.
Did you know that in the last 4 years our teachers and specialists have learned and implemented the Learning Assessment strategy?

The goals and criteria for success have made their way here for good. Our students know what and how to learn in order to achieve success to the best of their abilities.

In our school, educational tasks are slowly replacing traditional teaching methods. Instead of repeated repetitive tasks and using well-known patterns, we focus on searching for solutions, critical thinking and building the courage to take on challenges, not only educational ones.

We “catch” students with knowledge and give them the opportunity to make mistakes, which we see as an opportunity to learn. Feedback used instead of summative assessment gives students a real opportunity to verify their knowledge and allows them to take responsibility for the teaching-learning process.
Self-assessment and peer assessment build internal motivation, and work in groups and pairs supports the development of emotional and social competences, allows them to learn from each other and strengthens the students' sense of agency and self-worth.

Every big change starts with a small step. During the first and each subsequent event, we were accompanied by the "godmother" of the project - a trainer Center for Citizenship Education (CEO)Agnieszka Karlakwho shared knowledge and experience with us, supported and nurtured in us the belief that it is worth focusing on visible learning of students.

The school leaders of the project kindled the spark of change on a daily basis - Magdalena Grochowiak-Feldman and Joanna Prokopowicz, which, with their commitment, passion and, above all, example, inspired teachers to leave the zone of educational comfort and test in practice what benefits the idea of Assessing AS can bring to students.

Our teachers took it further, and the key question they are now asking themselves for the lessons is - "What can I do to make the learning itself a source of satisfaction for my students?"

The success was celebrated with us - Joanna Goc-Matyskiel - our captain, Mr. Jarosław Pytlak, director and author of the blog Around the school, Professor @ Małgorzata Żytko head of the Department of Early Education and Teacher Training of the Pedagogical Faculty University of Warsaw together with students, principals and teachers from friendly schools - Sylwia Dąbrowska from Gaudeamus Józefosław, a delegation of teachers from the School of free and caring in Lviv, Primary School no. Gen. Julian Filipowicz in Otwock, BIG BEN Polish-British Primary School named after Gen. Władysław Anders, Navigo Warsaw - Author's Primary School, ADYS Foundation, Primary School No. 24 Sto, Primary School named after Wanda Chotomska in Stary Orzechowo, Primary School No. Romuald Traugutt in Mrozy, A learning school
This is not the end of good news! This Friday we will meet in Gaudeamus in Józefosław, which will also receive the title of the Learning School.
